Anaheim's realistically got to send out another roster forward in the deal (roster space problem) but yeah, that's the general idea I posted about 5 minutes ago.

strome actually makes quite a bit of sense for this columbus roster – they don't have a right handed center and need solid veteran forwards. wouldn't mind him being included but that would give columbus a few too many playmakers.

CBJ getting fleeced in the 2nd deal but first deal framework seems fine. Im confident both players will rebound soon and we will all look back at how crazy low we valued this guys previously

Wow has Trevor Zegras really fallen off the cliff, if anyone here truly thinks that Laine+Peeke is fair value for him.

It's a possibility. I like the versatility Strome gives Anaheim's roster, and despite an off year last year he's back to 50-60 point pace (current pace is almost PPG, but I'm sure the teams going to fall off some). So I'd say he a pretty decent positive asset that would need to be accounted for in the deal.

Realistically we'd be looking to send out Henrique or Silfverberg as they're on expiring deals, Columbus could hang onto whichever went on the third line and retain at the TDL for some additional assets.

I believe he’s vastly overrated and overhyped, and a bad move for Columbus, but worth more than the offer, kind of a poor man’s eichel, that may turn into a pout or sulk til he finds Hughes or Caufield and possibly explode. Just a gut feeling that maybe ridiculously wrong, but that’s why this site is fun.

Maybe understand the deal in the context of both teams, and know that Laine is also a star forward, so yeah, it's not far off realistically and it fills needs on both sides.

Yeah Laine could be a star forward if he could ever stay healthy, just too bad he misses close to 50% of his games per season.
