Rangers would have to add for the Sens trade. Batherson is at worst a 60-point player and at best a point per game guy making less than $5 million. Kakko hasn't even reached Batherson's floor yet.

Having said that, if the Sens did want to trade Batherson, Kakko would be a great guy to have as the main piece coming back.

they should honestly just move him to a rebuilding team where he'd get the icetime he needs and get future assets in return to trade at the TDL

It wouldn't be for any of the above. One to consider would be Tomasino in Nashville, where both teams would probably make it an even swap, this season.

That would be poor asset management. They already don’t have any natural RWs on the team or pipeline. Also chytil is out for the foreseeable future so that hurts them as well

They’re literally a top 5 team in the nhl lol I think they’ll be fine. Kakko doesn’t need to be the next crosby or Mcdavid or Hughes. Sometimes a defensive forward is what teams are missing

Keep in mind, Laffy was literally this bad last year and now he’s fine. Kakko just need confidence and to stay in the top 6

Makes the Rangers better now. Batherson's contract could help a lot. Sens rebalance their LHD vs RHD thing a bit and have Kakko as a 3rd line RW.

At times, they run equal to Tomasino. The issue is lack of offense in both. Bare in mind that Tomasino was drafted to stay in a system, that though Hynes was coaching, was the brainchild of Laviolette, first promoted by Trotz. It would translate, if he was acquired, for or in spite of Kakko.

Isn’t Brannstrom LD? Rangers would be forced to play Lindgren, Miller, Gus, Jones or Brann on their off side

I like Schneider but he’s still a bit weak defensively. Makes a lot of rookie mistakes still and drives me insane. Thankfully he’s still young and defenseman take longer to mature and hopefully he replaces Trouba when his contract is done

Love Bath and Brann but gotta pay to get. Rangers have Fox and Trouba at RD, they don't need Schneider as much as we do


Fox is injured so when he gets back, you're fine. Brannstrom is good both ways, could maybe even blossom in that system

Re-sign Trouba short term... Look at Zibanejad, Kreider, Panarin, etc ages... Rangers need to go all in for the next 5 years.
