Canucks are not giving Barrie 4x4.5

Giving a 32 year old Toffoli 6 years doesn’t seem smart

You also forgot to take the salary cap rise into account, you’d likely have an additional 4M from that to use on the roster

I know it says "anywhere" but quickly to explain why it wouldn't be Ottawa :

The cap space will be dedicated to re-sign Tarasenko, but if is not him, Ottawa will look at a million other options before doing this

Who knows what Ottawa is going to do this off-season
Just fired their GM, might look for a change of scenery
Can see them making a change if they don't make a playoff spot
They currently sit at the bottom of the Atlantic as I'm writing this

No matter how many changes they will make (next is GM and then next is coaching staff. they just got new ownership)

Why Garland at $4,950,000 for 2 years?

Retain 50% and I'd do it

If not, pass.

And by the way, this Armchair section is about what each one of us would do, not to predict what will happen in the future as we don't really know.
