I think the Leafs would be better off keeping Liljegren if they are just going to use that money to sign Tanev at 3.6M. It would be no good to have their entire right side, except Timmins, be aging guys. There would also be no need to have Lybushkin if you have both Tanev and Brodie, just play Timmins and put that money towards signing an experienced goalie since they might need to run with 3-guys if Woll has a sophomore slump. If Tanev costs more like 3M, Brodie 2.5M, then keeping Liljegren if he costs like 3M should be possible and then Timmins can go since they have Hanifin.
Probably too little for Domi, I could see him take a discount if he gets 7 to 8 years but probably still needs to be above 3M.
I don't see Kane signing that deal with the Leaf unless Nylander ends up leaving. He wants to get paid fairly but also wants to go somewhere where he's needed. If by failed run with FLR means that he did terribly, then I don't see why the Leafs would have any interest in signing him. They would more than likely be looking for a budget Tyler Bertuzzi.
