This trade makes so much sense for both sides. Seattle gets it's first "franchise" player. A guy who can get 100 points win a Selke and sell out the arena. Marner is only 26 so you have him for 10+ years (assuming he resigns).

For Toronto they get Wright who clearly isn't going to be a #1C but can likely take over Tavares' spot in 2-3 years and be a solid 2C.

And they also get McCann who is the type of player they need more of. Hard-nosed 60-70 point guy who can play beside the stars. And Oleksiak who is 6'7 solid defensively, less than ideal contract but fills a hole in the lineup.

Money just coincidentally works out to within $300k.

After that Marner move. I'd personally get an identity for the 4th line by trading with Minnesota. They seem to be on the outside looking in so they could do pick for two 4th liners.

Then we fill the hole at 1RD. I'd prefer to pay more and get Andersson but let's assume Tanev is the only RD available.
