So your condition is if Oilers are eliminated in 4 games in the first round and Montembeault plays 2 games the pick becomes a 2nd?

If the Oilers are giving up all that to dump Campbell they're not keeping $2M of it, they dump the whole thing or they buy it out in the summer.

I would take this trade in milliseconds as a Habs fan. I get the feeling it wouldn't even be offered though.

Yeah, I think that makes it fair. I know it's a lot, but Montembeault is an upgrade and Ryan McLeod might need a change of scenery.
