Might have to add a 1st. Edmonton would probably do it for this return though. Vancouver plays him 12-13 mins a game for multiple more years. They could better spend that 5 mill elsewhere and to move a bottom 6 forward at 5 mill with no retention will cost. That’s how it works.

He plays 3rd line mins and producing at a 30 point pace for 5 mill. He’s definitely a cap dump.

I didn’t say he’s bad. If teams wanted him at that cap hit he would’ve been traded 2 years ago, or last season. He’s been demanding a trade and Vancouver said they’re trying to accommodate him just a couple months ago. In order to move him they will have to attach a pick, or take back another less than ideal contract, they’d probably rather just sacrifice a 2nd, and what looks like it might be a later 2nd at this point instead of taking back a player. They could use that 5 mill. Every team could.
