1. Rangers decline quite easily
2. Washington decline both for value and the fact that a team on the downward is not going to be trading premium draft stock.
3. This might get TK with retention (probably not), not TK and Carter Hart.

I agree. This is a huge package for TK with retention. Sure, that’s a deal. You could even ask for a Seeler or Attard or some other depth piece and it’s close imo. But Hart in that deal, no way, it’s just not enough replacement value imo. It starts to look like a lot of scraps when PHI is giving up the two best pieces.

I love the caveat in parenthesis (Boucher is former 1st round pick) like that means something when he hasn't produced as a first round talent.

1- Yes I'd do it, but 1st + 3rd would work too IF the Sens keep the same coaching staff and don't try to turn things around. If they keep the statu quo, I'd just trade Tarasenko anyway even if still in the playoffs race

2- I'd rather just trade Kubalik for a 3rd and wait until I find the right trade for Brannstrom, preferably a young cost controlled 2-way forward (ex : Dellandrea)

3- Easy decline. Not really interested in Hart anyway. Konecny at the right price and with an extension sure. And Joseph is just not available.

Questions :

1- How much value Kakko still have? I think expected value for Tarasenko hasn't changed much, it was a 1st + 3rd not even a year ago

2- If WAS decline for value, how much is Kubalik worth at the deadline? Looking at past history, that type of player seem to be worth a 3rd round pick... Then adding Brannstrom doesn't upgrade it to a 2nd? I'm not saying the Caps should or should not do it, just discussing value

3- Joseph has 2 more years a 2.95 AAV, Konecny has 1 more year at 5.5 AAV before UFA. Not saying it is all based on recent production but Joseph is a reinvented player this season. Konecny has 1 more point in 5 more games played. How much more Konecny is worth? 1st + 2nd + 3rd + 4th + Boucher isn't enough to make up the difference?

Boucher is worth a 3rd round pick at most... recent high draft pick reclamation project

1. Tarasenko is an impending UFA. Kaako, unless I'm completely wrong, is not. There's a huge price difference for control long term. I don't really consider a slow start much of a damper to price considering he's looked pretty decent for the previous two seasons.

2. I guess re-looking at it value is fine, but again Washington is not the squad for it.

3. Prior to the season, a 1st was assumed to be the asking price to dump Joseph. As is the same with Kakko, a 20 game stint isn't enough to completely reverse it. Plus, you're completely missing the fact that Carter Hart is in the deal.

1. That was not my question... I asked "How much value Kakko still have?"

2. ok good. Personally, I wouldn't trade Brannstrom for a pick, he is needed and is an insurance in case of injuries. I'd trade Kubalik for the best pick I can get and that's it (guessing 3rd or 4th). UNLESS, I could get a similar young-ish 2-way forward for Brannstrom or a RHD under 30 y/o and with term

3. Prior to the season, a 1st was assumed to be the asking price to dump Joseph.

And I kept repeating how stupid it was. Context created that speculation. Dorion never really wanted to trade Joseph, it was just to save time and draw the attention away from Pinto, who thanked Dorion for that. Dorion actually did something nice, don't take that away from him lol

Again, not my question. It was based on what you said : "This might get TK with retention (probably not)"

That said, not looking to trade Joseph at all, Sens need more players like him, not less. If they were getting Konecny, it's to add but removing Joseph already hurts what you're trying to do. Kubalik and Tarasenko are the guys I would trade, they're not really needed with the make up of the team.

And finally, I personally wouldn't trade for Hart at all, goaltending in Ottawa is not the problem. Korpisalo has been LIGHTS OUT and he has a 0.897 SV%. Hart would get destroyed in Ottawa, like pretty much any goalie
