Just saw that Beau Trade is an actual real deal. Surprised they had to give anything up at all for him. Could have probably got him for Future Considerations. I guess they’ll try him out and look to re-sigh him or try to build his value back ion and trade him retained for a better pick

Juulsen adds no value to that deal. The deal is 1st + 3rd + contract slot. Super fair for Tanev.

I love Tanev but a 1st is too much for the Canucks to be trading, we just don't have the depth to be giving up picks right now.

I have been predicting a 1st + for Tanev for a very long time. (I am a Leafs fan by the way). I trade a 1st + 3rd ish from the Toronto side of things as well. He is an extremely good defensive dman.

No, I think we can sign him to that deal on July 1st and keep our draft picks. It's less about Tanev's value and more about where the Canucks are in their rebuild. If we had more depth and that trade made us a cup favorite then I would do it but unfortunately, it doesn't.
