Description

Team USA if we had a Best on Best Tournament Today
Players in consideration I didnt use are in the Scratch, IR and LTIR columns for FWDs, D and G respectively

Forwards
-Not Much to say here I would say its pretty standard in terms of what you'd expect their forward group to look like. Johnny Hockey has had a rough go in Columbus but i still feel like he probably makes this team he is still on of the best American Players in the League.
-Matthews Plays with the Tkachuk Brothers, Eichel gets Conner and Hughes on his wings
-Larkin stays with debrincat and they Thompson
-Guentzel scores goals period. so he makes it, JT Miller gets better with age
-Berniers gets to tag along as the 13th forward for experience as he will be a mainstay with age

Dmen:
-Quinn Hughes, Adam Fox might as well put them together
-Werenski and McAvoy are both great Dmen
-Slavin and Trouba play as the shutdown pair
-Jake Sanderson (could also be Luke Hughes) get to come along as the 7th, both great in their own right and will be big parts of future teams

Goalies:
I dont think there is anything to say here the 3 guys are 3 of the best in the world, others off the final roster don't really have a chance

I don't see how this team loses. Team USA is looking silly good.

Personally i think
Slavin-Fox
Hughes-Mcavoy
Would be better pairings.

Slavin and fox would be a very high IQ and reliable dpairing

Hughes and mcavoy are 2 of the better skating dmen in the league and would be very hard to get by, Hughes would be your main offensive threat for that line with mcavoy being the shutdown dman

No Robertson in your team is kinda shocking to me. I’d put him for sure. Maybe Pavelski in as well

I’d also swap out Trouba for Seth Jones or Pesce, but apart from that I agree with the rest

I can see the argument for Jones over trouba and after thinking about it I agree and it seems to work with some shifting of Pairs we get Jones playing again with Werenski who he played his best hockey with in Columbus.

Pavelski was the hardest cut for met to make here I like him but at the end of the day i think it would be an age thing why take the 37 year old when there are guys that 10+ years younger that can do it just as well. I don't think Roberston makes the team. Yes he has a knack for scoring but a lot of the time watching him he looks lazy and disinterested and honestly i think hes the 5th best guy on his own team behind Hintz, Heiskinen, Ottinger and Pavelski and I think there are other options that are just as good if not better
