Rebuild is over? Ottawa is in the basement of the east?

I really thought Ottawa was ready to take the next step this year, I thought they would be playoff bound.

Of course they're at the bottom of the East, they've played 17 games lmao.

They've got a good enough team, but they'll never do anything of note with this coach

It doesnt matter how many fewer games they've played when they arent winning.

      - Sundqvist is not very good, have to target better bottom-6 forwards

      - I don't know if Pinto will have enough time in the 2nd part of the season to deserve such a contract extension?

Like the roster in general but not the bottom-6 outside of Joseph-Greig and Kastelic

Goodrow would be nice too but at that cap hit... fans would turn on him

Sokolov or Kelly will battle out the 4LW spot. I thought Sundqvist was good defensively

Kelly is hard worker who really wants but he's not NHL level, or at least not more than a 13th or 14th forward who sits most game. Sokolov is another good kid but his skating will always hold him back. He doesn't have a high end IQ that makes him good all around ala Mark Stone, so I can't see Sokolov stick in the NHL

Sundqvist used to be better all around but his play has declined the last few years. Important to identify bottom-6 players who will keep the puck away from scoring areas in own own end
