Yeah the Ducks burst out laughing at this, if theyd have any interest in Nylander (which I doubt) they'll have the space to get him in FA

And realistically the Leafs are keeping him all year for a playoff run

1000%

McTavish for Nylanders gets laughed at let alone add a top prospect and a good roster player

Zellwger and Henrique GREATLY over offset the difference from Nylander to McTavish.

Bad for the Ducks.

Only piece from that trade I'd give up for Nylander is Henrique. Might throw a non 1st pick in as well.

Simple fact is Anaheim seea no need to give up premium assets for a rental, and Toronto can't command that high a price because Nylander can walk. Even if it's a sign and trade, how many teams in the league can realistically pay his raise?

Leafs have blown their shot with this core by signing them to too much too early.

He's only a rental in your mind as if you pay that much for a player you are not going to try to resign
Anaheim is a Nylander type winger away to stick as playoff team and also play with one of their young centres so I can see Anaheim going 5 years at $10,000,000 a year

Then why give up any premium young assets to get him when were only signing 5 years? Yeah, he'd be a fit here, but we can leverage our cap space, lifestyle, and playing with one of the hottest young cores in the league, a core which McTavish is a firm part of.

Maybe you can talk Anaheim into one of LaCombe or Zellweger, but any of the centers are firmly out of a Nylander trade
