Nurse is the team's best Dman. He's not worth all of that 9.25mil cap hit, but he's worth at least 7mil of it and is a genuine top pairing Dman. Full stop.

Untrue. The issue with Nurse is that because he doesnt have a same-tier partner to synergize with, he ends up trying to do TOO much and that's where the screw ups happen.. Ceci is basically treading water on the first pair instead of someone like a Toews synergizing with a Makar scenario.

Not saying Nurse is Makar level either, let's get that out of the way. He is fine as a first pair guy, but is way better when simplifying his game and not overdoing it. Really needs a better partner to cover for his shortcomings. Is he also overpaid? Yep, by about 1.5-1.75M and there would be way less noise about him if his AAV started with a '7' instead of a '9'.
