I get that u want Krebs
But the Sabres just signed Clifton to a 3year deal
So we don’t necessarily “need” a RD

And we’ve been using Krebs as our defensive center
So if we trade him, we’ll be opening a hole we have to fill
And we don’t have a replacement for the role he is in

So if we did trade Krebs for a RD,
we’d have to move out a RD most likely & also, we’d have to like the RD we are getting back more than we like Krebs & Clifton


It just doesn’t seem like a trade we’d make
Maybe something more like Clifton + for a RD upgrade makes sense for us?
Or maybe Jokiharju +

So i get why they used him as the lowest ranking in value of the 4 players mentioned.

Taking into account the many options out there. It's not always about making a deal now rather than evaluating what are the possibilities ... The market is an in-progress / evolution of many vectors that need to be observed and understood. it's the what-if theory if I can say so.

Just don’t like him & don’t want him on the Sabres for a variety of reasons

BUT
Monahan & Kovacevic for Krebs is something that i could see being a reasonable deal in the real world

the Sabres decided they wanted to move Krebs


I think they’d look for whoever offered the best RD though,
and that deal would probably win
But we’d have to have a deal for a defensive Center in our pocket as well
