Blues fans thoughts on Broberg

Description
Also, how do Blues fans feel about this season. We are consistently inconsistent and it seems without Binner we would be a bottom 5 team. Schenn no longer looks like a top 6 player and Hayes has been brutal on everything but the faceoff dot (where he has been shockingly good).

I think the Blues need to get a winger or center that can keep up with Kyrou as right now he just has to do everything himself and leaves the much slower Hayes and Schenn in the dust.
I would love if the Blues move out maybe one of Saad or Hayes at the deadline and replace them with a younger, faster, player but we'll see if that happens.

The player I would target if available is Krebs. I think ideally you could get him to play as the 2C and push Schenn down to the 3C where he would be more comfortable. Krebs and Kyrou might go crazy together. The thing is Buffalo fans really like Krebs and likely Buffalo management does as well. He is clearly very talented they are just using him as a defensive center. But if I were Krebs I would want out of Buffalo as he will get passed up by their loaded farm system soon and he could make a lot more money elsewhere playing top 6 minutes. Just an opinion though.

Also thoughts on Alexandrov? I thought he played his best game of the year last night. I wish we would have just had confidence in him to play 3C instead of bringing in Hayes as Alexandrov really isn't meant for the 4th line. My biggest problem with him is he is horrible of faceoffs. He simply needs to get better at that for the Blues to have faith in him at center. I'd like to see him in the lineup more and maybe higher up the lineup (even though he isn't in the lineup below that's just because realistically they won't bench the vets in front of him).

  1. Broberg, Philip
Additional Details:
Honestly something I could see Holland doing.
Edmonton fans won't want to sell low on Broberg (and Edmonton shouldn't sell low on him in my opinion) but right now his value is low and I could see Holland looking to pick up a physical defensive dman with playoff experience to replace Broberg.

Blues and Edmonton have made small swaps before and I think the Blues should be interested in Broberg.

We'll see what happens.

Also note if I were an Edmonton fan I would say no to this deal, but unfortunately you guys have a bad GM who might say yes...
EDM
  1. Bortuzzo, Robert
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (STL)
2.
STL
  1. 2024 4th round pick (TOR)
  2. 2024 7th round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Toronto is hurting on the backend and Scandella would be a good, cheap add for them. Maybe they can get another team to retain on him too so he's even cheaper. This clears a spot for Broberg and Perunovich in the lineup.
TOR
  1. Scandella, Marco ($1,637,500 retained)
3.
STL
  1. 2024 4th round pick (ARI)
Additional Details:
Doesn't have to be Arizona but the thought is they have cap and could be looking for some veteran presence on the blueline with term on their contract as they will likely get rid of Dumba either at the deadline or in the offseason.

If the Blues retained 50% on Leddys contract, some team would take him, it's just a matter of who.
ARI
  1. Leddy, Nick ($2,000,000 retained)
4.
STL
  1. Duclair, Anthony
Additional Details:
I thought of this trade and it made a little sense to me so I thought I would propose it.

The thought is Duclair will definitely not be signing in San Jose and the max he's worth at the deadline is probably around a 3rd or 4th round pick.
The same goes for Vrana who won't be signing with the Blues and likely gets a 3rd or 4th round pick at the deadline.

So here they swap players, giving the Blues a player that fits their scheme more and they could try to extend Duclair if they like how he plays and it gives San Jose the more talented player who could add some excitement to a bad team. Also Vrana might take a one year extension in San Jose as he would be almost guaranteed top line minutes.

I just think this benefits both teams and both players. Thoughts?

Zero point the sharks make that deal and Duclair has been good mentor for us and I wouldn’t mind seeing us resign him. If we do trade him it won’t be for a more expensive rental who is providing less production.

Vrana makes less but your point is fair. It was just a thought.

I'm not sure I think the Blues really like Blais and I personally really like him but that would probably be fair enough. Similar to the Kostin deal.

The Sharks/Blues trade doesn't really benefit the Sharks at all.

Edm fans remember that Broberg was drafted in the top ten. they cant understand the player does not have that value anymore. He gets moved for a mid round pick or some elses 1st round bust

I really would like Krebs or a similar player being acquired by the Blues. I just dont know what that would take and how it would be possible. Dvorsky could also be that guy in a few seasons too though.
