    1.7M MAXIMUM for 2 years
    Engstrom ??????
This is unrealistic and wouldn’t even be a good offseason

Barron 1000% deserve more than 2m. He has been our second best D this season. As of Engstrom, I agree it’s weird. And we draft Eiserman if we end up with the second overall pick

No point in drafting Lindstrom 2nd OA. We can easily move to 4 and draft him. If he somehow gets drafted in the top 3 as we move down spots, we get Eiserman (Levshunov is a top 3 lock IMO due to the number of teams needing him like SJ, CHI, ANA, probably PHI, EDM if they don't rise, you get the point)

Are you only looking at the goals column ? Guhle Matheson Kovacevic Struble all outplayed him he’s been better than Lindstrom and Xhekaj and arguably Harris. Savard way better when healthy as well. He should get 2 years at 1.7M or 2 years at 1.4M

He is surprisingly very good defensively. He deive the play offensively. Matheson is the only one who is better and arguably Guhle. Barron should get around 3m

Barron have been playing great since the start of the season. He developing curve just go up and up. Not sure why all the hate for Barron but he will be a major part of the Habs for many season. It’s not perfect but for a 22 years old kids who is just starting is career he does very well. Mtl goes long term, they have the cap space to overpay the front year but when they will be in tight cap space this deal will become a great one.

Olivier Bjorkstrand was traded for a lesser return. That a very good comparable to start with. Florida lose leverage with cap crunch. Bennett is also a UFA after the season so no team will give up a first in the offseason. Victor Arvidsson would also be a good start to built a trade.

Why it’s weird that Engstrom play next year. He already have 2 full pro season. He play over 20 minutes night after night and he is doing great. He is a elite skater with good offensive instincts and have been working real hard on is defensive game. Pretty sure he will make the team next season.

That your opinion, but Lindtrom won’t make it to number 4. He is a better version of Byfield. He hasn’t stop impressing since the start of the season. I don’t gave a **** about Eiserman. If i drafted Lindstrom 2nd overall it’s because i do think he is the second best players in that draft buddy. You get the point!

Barron will never be worth 4.5M in his entire career ... it's like the people complaining about not going higher and long terms with Harris ... Barron isn't playing like a top 4 dman and shouldn't get paid like one
MTL will never be cap strap for the next 10 years come on. Nobody need big extension and only big contract are going to expire (Dvorak 4.45M, Allen 3.85M, Armia 3.4M) and only Guhle and Slaf to sign.
You bridge everyone not named Kaiden Guhle, the only exception would be Slafkovsky

Barron is already a top 4 d-man end of discussion. He play top four minutes at 22 years old. He don’t look out of play in that role. Kid’s doesn’t even have a 100 games under is belt. If he continues to progress like he did since last year, there no concern about. You clearly don’t like him but i am not sure why? Kovacevic is not better and there a big reason why Barron have surpassed him in the d-men hierarchy. If Barron wasn’t good he would be playing Struble, Kovacevic, Lindstrom the big minutes he give to Barron. I guess Martin St louis see the thing like i see them.
Bref tu aimes pas Barron ta le droit mais t’es mieuxde t’habituer parce qu’il va être a Montreal longtemps surtout si il continue à améliorer son jeu défensif et ca prise de décision avec la rondelle.

He has a contract in Sweden for next season, so he will likely be sent there again next year.

I would be shock ig he make the team. He was one of the best at rookie camp, he is much closer then people think. I guess it will depend on how many NHL contract defenseman we got next year. Their at least Guhle, Barron and Matheson who have the edge over the rest. Savard will also be their if he isn’t traded.

Harris will be waiver eligible so he will be there. Xhekaj and Struble will be there too. Kova is another lock. Hutson and Reinbacher should be pushing. That leave no place for Engstrom

I don’t think Harris will be longer with the team. I expect Mtl to trade him at the draft. Depending on The trade deadline Kovacevic might not be there either. If Engstrom is better then the other then they would found room for him. Struble have been good so far we’ll see if he can maintain.

Kovacevic best partner was Jordan Harris and they were a solid pairing, now with Struble (a rookie) with the team, the only ‘vet’ left on the right side is Kovacevic. That’s why Gustav Lindstrom (one of the worse dman in the league) is paired up with Mike Matheson so Matheson can carry him (tho Matheson hasn’t even been good defensively this year). Engstrom is coming over in North America tho. MTL dman lock next season : Mike Matheson (1), David Savard (2), Kaiden Guhle (3), Jonathan Kovacevic (4), Jordan Harris (5), Justin Barron (6), and probably Arber Xhekaj (7). Laval should be : Hutson (1), Reinbacher (2), Struble (3), Mailloux (4), Trudeau (5), Engstrom (6) and maybe Tourigny (7). Je viens de réaliser j’ai switcher du français à l’anglais 😅 Oui c’est possible qu’ils échangent Jordan Harris et/ou Kovacevic, mais avec toutes les blessures qu’ils ont à chaque années, il préfère garder leur profondeur
