I like that it all fits in the cap. Tanev taking that hometown term discount would be a little surprising.

Ya I'm not 100% sure what Tanev gets, I'm assuming it's somewhere in the 4-5M 2-3 year range. Might be a team out there willing to go 4 years, but I would think the cap hit would probably drop if that were the case.

If he’s willing to go anywhere I bet he finds four years. I think three years is probably the right term for Van to get him back. Kind of a statement “yeah we messed up with the two year term offer last time”

I think ideally you go two years, but I would be willing to go three if it's the difference in getting him signed.

Would rather keep Garland instead of paying to dump him and giving Weinberg 4x4. Podkolzin-Suter-Garland 3rd line

Although I am not a fan of paying to dump Garland, I make that move to improve the 3C position. If this team wants to continue to improve going forward they need additional cap space to address areas that need improvement . The 3C position is an important one and one that currently needs improvement, especially if either EP or JTM were to get injured.
