If there was another asset coming to the caps I’d do it. Even a second round pick would be enough imo. Alexyev could turn into a good top 4 defenseman but I think that Broberg has the higher ceiling. Risk-reward and such.

Sandin had played twice as many games and scored ~5 times as many points when the caps dealt for him. He was a regular on Toronto's (very deep at the time) blue line. Broberg hasn't played more than 15 minutes in a game this season.
