Flames aren't buyers by any means. Trading a player under team control for a rental would be very shortsighted.

Especially with also adding a pick! Don’t get me wrong I like it for the sharks but making sense for the flames is hard!

Probably, I just don't care about 3rd round picks and the extremely finite chance they become players.

Dubes not great right now, the Duke is the key to unlocking Huberdeau (over here in fantasy land anyway).

Let's do it, If I'm right I'll be crazy like a fox.

Or I'm just crazy.

I have hope. I have hope that the young guys are looking promising. I am not betting on a team that has to come back in every game to be competitive this year though.

Wolf, Zary, Poirier, Pelts, and Coronato all give me hope. I love Lindholm and Hanifin but im ready to move on and retool around the kids.

Im fine with the idea of trading Dube too. As a fan of Tampa I would absolutely love for him to go there, he would fit their mold so well

Tampa? I think he gets a chance to be one of the better players on the Sharks.

Good to see everyone come together around Wolf, Solo blessing the net. Character win.

But I agree, these comebacks are unsustainable. I think it means they're closer to be being truly competitive than further.

Make a move, remove a weak link, try something cheap that looks obvious, make a statement.

You can still sell Lindholm and anybody else at the deadline, heck you can sell Duclair too.

Yes Tampa. They are in need of a top 9 forward and Dube's playstyle fits theirs very well.

I don't think these comebacks mean were closer to being a competitor at all. Especially as the season goes on it becomes much harder to come back against good teams. For Carolina this was a scheduled loss. Back to back games with travel is tough no matter if the travel is down a highway or a 2 hour flight. The fact they had us beat for 2 periods before we were finally able to capitalize on their exhaustion says something

A one-for-one would be more reasonable (at least for the Flames) assuming that no one wants Dube and the Flames plan to just let him go to FA.

I just mean they're closer to being competitive than they are to being a lottery team. As currently constructed they'll continue as they have for the past 100 games. Same roster, same results.

I think a few moves removing a few bodies and bringing in a few new ones, especially ones that help Huby, have the potential to push things to another level.

But this thing where we keep expecting the same group to be better than they are is infuriating.

Sell everyone and play the kids, or pick around the edges and try to improve the group. I really don't care, but more of the same is just crazy.

Shark fans only want picks, they will not hear any arguments about age, ufa/rfa status, etc.

If Duclair is willing to resign in Calgary then I guess this could be a good idea. I don’t think Calgary needs a rebuild, more a re-tool. They have good pieces so like I Said sharks are going to agree! And a lot of solid depth guys come out of the 3rd and 4th rounds! So sharks would be thrilled.
