I don't think Caps are interested in Lindholm. They already have 2 good 2Cs in Strome and McMichael. Not worth giving up a 1st to get Lindholm for a handful of months and then possibly resign him to a contract they won't live up to.

I don’t think you’d have much interest from New Jersey with a first and a great young guy for them, I know Mercer hasent started off the season hot but just last year at 21 went 27-29-56 in points and idk if hanafin would get all that from them. But hypothetically if it were to go threw putting Mercer on the 4th line would be a terrible decision.

Decent trade offers, Calgary accepts the Hanifin trade and makes Lindholm one last contract offer before seriously considering accept the other trade too.

Calgary declines the Washington trade unless they fail to extend Lindholm and they figure they can flip Kuznetsov for a pretty good prospect/player or another first.



Funny? How so?

It's a good offer but it's not like a 3rd line center on pace for 31-32 points is a star player worth a whole lot. However Mercer very nicely fits the description of a particular type of player Calgary could use more of (a young right shot forward with decent size who can even play center) so Calgary might take less or add something extra.
