We need to add 1, preferably 2 d, to our group. Not remove 2 of our better ones and nuke all our best prospects in picks in the meantime.

If you go after Hanifin and Tanev, keep Brodie and McCabe also.

Brodie is a solid #3D. McCabe is a solid #5D.

Hanifin is a solid #2. Tanev is a solid #3D. Sanheim is more of a gamble. He is paid like a 2. This year he is playing like a 2. But he has played like a 3 in the past.

I would love to add Hanifin (extended). I would love to add Tanev if he costed around a 2nd round pick.

But we best be keeping Brodie and McCabe.

Brodie gets cooked every playoffs. He can't play top competition, and he's overpaid to do anything else.

McCabe has a negative xG% in 9/10 of his NHL seasons.
