Description
I did not inclured Jayden Struble because I don't think MTL will send him down anytime soon. What he does right now with the Canadiens is impressive
ROUND 1TEAMORIGINALPLAYERDETAILS
1Logo of the Montreal Canadiens-Best potential out there, Hutson could be the 'next thing' in Montreal. The talent is there, the only concern I have is him playing 5 on 5 against other teams top line, how he will do in his own end. Will probably be paired up with David Reinbacher
2Logo of the New Jersey Devils-
David Reinbacher
Big body two-way right shot dman who will log a tons of minutes on 5 on 5 and on the PK. Will probably be paired up with Lane Hutson, future top pairing or second pairing for Montreal.
3Logo of the Arizona Coyotes-
Owen Beck (+30 )
Owen Beck is probably the more NHL ready prospect, plays a 200 ft game. Really good on the faceoffs, he will be MTL future 3C. I ranked him pretty high for a guy who will be a 3rd line Center but he will be a great one and he is the one I believe who will reach his potential
4Logo of the Seattle Kraken-
Jacob Fowler
Future #1 goaltender for Montreal if he develops properly. Goalies are voodoo tho, you never know what will happen. I still ranked him high because of the potential here
5Logo of the Philadelphia Flyers-
Logan Mailloux
Big, nasty, offensive right handed defenseman who has a lot of brain farts defensively. He's got to work on his defensive game if he wants to be a NHL defenseman. If he puts it all together, he could become a top 4 dman in the National Hockey League
6Logo of the Columbus Blue JacketsLogo of the Chicago Blackhawks
Joshua Roy
Talented offensive forward who learned to play well defensively. People ranked him higher but Joshua Roy isn't driving a line and doesn't play intense. He could become a top 6 complementary winger or a 3rd line winger, but he has to show more effort every shift
7Logo of the Chicago BlackhawksLogo of the Ottawa SenatorsReally good puck moving dman who can play in the two zone. I was EXTREMELY impressed by him during Habs rookie camp. The best dman after Lane Hutson during rookie camp. Has the potential to be a full time NHLer, tho MTL have already a lot of lefty's in their depth chart.
8Logo of the Detroit Red Wings-
Emil Heineman
Could be a good bottom six forward going forward for the Habs with seize. Lethal shot, we will see if it translate in the NHL
9Logo of the Buffalo Sabres-High potential, crafty offensive player with an excellent vision and hands. The problem will be his seize, the talent is there, will it translate in the NHL ? IMO he will either be a top 6 winger PP specialist or he will be a bust
10Logo of the Anaheim Ducks-
Oliver Kapanen
Kapanen’s game is all about off-puck instincts and good scoring touch in tight places. Could be MTL future 4th line center, has good seize and can win faceoffs. Suzuki and Dach aren't really good in the circles, Beck & Kapanen could help this issue.
11Logo of the Arizona CoyotesLogo of the San Jose Sharks
Honorable mentions
Bogdan Konyushkov RHD - Sean Farrell LW
12Logo of the Columbus Blue Jackets-
13Logo of the Chicago BlackhawksLogo of the New York Islanders
14Logo of the Winnipeg Jets-
15Logo of the Vancouver Canucks-
16Logo of the Buffalo SabresLogo of the Vegas Golden Knights
17Logo of the Nashville Predators-
18Logo of the Dallas Stars-
19Logo of the Minnesota WildLogo of the Los Angeles Kings
20Logo of the Washington Capitals-
21Logo of the Pittsburgh Penguins-
22Logo of the Anaheim DucksLogo of the Boston Bruins
23Logo of the St. Louis Blues-
24Logo of the Minnesota Wild-
25Logo of the Chicago BlackhawksLogo of the Toronto Maple Leafs
26Logo of the Montreal CanadiensLogo of the Calgary Flames
27Logo of the San Jose SharksLogo of the Carolina Hurricanes
28Logo of the Buffalo SabresLogo of the Florida Panthers

I'm gonna say something preposterous here, but not only will fowler not be the habs future starter, but the 5th rounder volokhin from last year will be... definitely needs to atleast be in the honorable mentions

He plays in the MHL, upgrade would be VHL then KHL
We’ll have to wait and see how he does in the KHL, but same could be said for Fowler. We’ll see

he is doing good in the mhl, but i'll say ypu have to be carefull when looking at the numbers for goaltender, its a very uneven league with powerhouse clubs. There is a bunch of goaltender the same age as him posting same or even better numbers. I think we can be happy with his developpmebt so far but the numbers dont tell the full story. just my 2 cent.

I think you’re right on Fowler! He was a player I wanted the sharks to target! Same with Mailoux he has a little mental growth but we had to know that was an issue with his bone headed picture sharing scandal!
Still like both prospects! My rankings I include all players under 25 who have less than 100 games played so I would have had Slaff #1 and I’m sick of the bust label BS going around! Everyone knew he was a project and was going to take time to develop! Big forwards always do! Wait till he’s 21/22 and tearing up the league and being the perfect wing to protect Suzuki and Caufield!!!! Byfield in LA is the perfect example.
And Reinbacher likely isn’t a top Pair D, but I expect him to be a fantastic #3 2nd pairing guy and min eater! No hate but he’s just not the guy I would want on the top line right now, maybe he takes another step post draft. If he does you guys struck gold!

No Habs fans are sad or calling Slaf a bust anymore. The last 2 weeks-ish, he’s been our best player … and he is 19 yo. He took some BIG steps, learning how to protect the puck with his body. Suzuki & Caufield can’t finish his play, but he can’t either. The points will come. For Reinbacher, after watching him live during preseason, the kid’s gonna be good. Guhle-Reinbacher could easily be a top pairing duo, but that leaves Hutson playing with another more offensive minded dman (Mailloux or Barron) which is not ideal.

Am I remembering wrong or didn't Habs fans previously rate Farrell higher.

He’s good, it’s either a becomes a 2nd line winger who needs to produce offensively or bust, kinda like Mesar. I think right now he needs to put some muscle on
