Can’t really follow the logic on leafs trade; burn a 1st to dump Samsonov - for what purpose? To create cap room but we’d need assets like 2024 1st or prospect like Steeves to get a replacement. Worst case, Sammy is sent to minors - we have enough cap room with Klingberg on LTIR so that’ll be a pass from me

Value wise I'd say necas and tarensako are roughly the same and the fact comes are desperate for a goalie a 2nd isn't all to bad

You have to think they have to extent necas, he's putting up about the same points as tarenskeno and he isn't as experienced. Yes he is younger and has a good ceiling but with a Win now mentality tarensko would be more appealing

The only way the Hurricanes deal Necas is for an upgrade and Forsberg and Taresenko are just not that

Necas is putting up more points than Tarasenko, is younger, and is an RFA as opposed to a UFA. His value is much higher. Forsberg is not the goalie to spend a second on, especially since the Canes are not desperate - Kochetkov has done just fine the past couple of weeks.
