Hertl isn't waiving for Winnipeg and the jets aren't overpaying to take on his contract.

Winnipeg has zero need for Tanev.

Winnipeg absolutely has a need for Tanev. Guy is a shut down defender that plays on the right side with a right hand shot. He is on the last year of his deal and could provide a great help on the right side and more importantly on the PK. That being said I would not take Tanev at his full cap hit. Calgary would have to take on 1/2 that contract for me to trade for Tanev.

You're thinking of Tanev 5 years ago. Right now he's not worth the purchase price and does nothing for Winnipeg.

Big NO on Hertl but I would jump at that Calgary trade, Getting rid of Schmidt contract for a cheaper and shorter term dman for the 3rd pairing is a yes for me.

Tanev 5 years ago couldn't stay healthy and stay in the lineup. Tanev has been and continues to be a solid piece on the defense. The past 4 years he has been exactly what the Jets need. a guy who blocks shots and can really help on the PK. What area do the Jets need help on the most? It's special teams!! trading for Tanev wouldn't shake up the roster at all and it would improve the defense. Also bringing in a guy like Tanev to the Jets would boost the players I think with watching him sacrifice the body.

Tanev is a last resort in my mind. I would try and go after a Pulock or a Parayko but if they arent getting moved, try for Tanev as he will be better than Schmidt or Heinola

Zero need for Tanev… Jets need top pairing RHD and that’s not Tanev.
