Give up 3 1st round picks, For two players you've zero chance of re-signing. Yeah that makes perfect sense.

Everyone poo pooing on trading high picks. At some point you have to go all in. If it doesn't work out you sell off assets to recoup the picks. Rangers have a shot and would the favorite imo to come out of the East if they made these trades.

pens aren't trading guentz to a divisional rival. not trading 59, period.

Two low 1sts is an underpayment for Guentzel without retention. Take back the 2026 1st and add an A prospect and a B+ guy who is already in the NHL. Then (if adding retention) add a little more.

Longshot that the Pens move Guentzel but I might gamble on that rental, but we dont need Hannifin. Gus is filling that role cheap and well!
