Yep when one of your top forwards is having an absolutely bonkers career year the thing to do is definitely trade him + your best defensive Dman for an older winger, a 20-point 3rd liner, another 6-7 D (to add to the 14 you already have) and a late second.

Then trade your LW with good advanced stats for a 1st next year and another mid-to-low-pairing Dman, and play him way waaaaaay too high in the lineup.

Also Willy's no-trade, Brodie's no-trade, Forsberg's no-move and Bertuzzi's no-move all say no.

Forsberg isn’t very far behind Nylander in points, on a far less offensively gifted team as well. His contract also won’t cost us 10m+ moving forward.

Not comparing the two but in terms of this trade, Nashville has no need to do this.

Exactly could you imagine forsberg on the leafs he would have just as many points or more. This is a lateral move for Nashville. You add nylander in the offseason to pair with forsberg if you want nylander.
