Panic Moving RJ For Recent Opponent

Description
G looked good on NYE, seems to still have his skating legs. Given the lack of anything on Behrens, the Avs want to get something from him before he goes Butcher on them. SB seems like a good fit in SJ, where he can contribute right away. In COL he doesn't have a spot rn

To me he looked good yesterday and observations from a Sharks fan correlate:

As a Sharks fan, Granlund has been great for us at 0.8 point per game. He's also raised the level of our powerplay significantly.

For a playoff contender, he is not a 2C solution. He would fit the best as a 3C for an offensive line with good rush wingers (like Duclair and Zetterlund have been for us). He can also quarterback a PP2 unit for a better team.

Unfortunately his salary does not match that role. His value would be maximized at 50% retained, which realistically won't be possible for the Sharks until TDL 2025.

I think the guy ran around and didn’t do a whole lot, he gets absolutely destroyed I mean a 40CF 5v5 41.3CF even strength a freaking -11 xGD, I think you and shark fans need to realize a guy playing 20+ minutes getting destroyed like him is a significant reason as to why that team sucks. What do you think RyJo does playing 20+ minutes a night? I mean how did he look good to you when they were getting outshot 3 to 1 or he was generating 1 HDCF in 20+ minutes of time. Dude is no good.

If I were him, playing for an obvious tank, I'd always first make sure I wasn't risking injury. Then I'd put up some easy points. PP assist, check. I def wouldn't stick my neck out with another guaranteed season on my contract. He's on pace for 40+ pts & I think he could get a bump playing on the Avs.

At this point, the Avs have already committed only $4M for a 2C, so Granlund's objective value is trumped by Joey's value, which is matched on this roster. I don't care if he's not the idea 2C, he just needs to be good enough to fit in COL, which I think he can do.

Based on what? You actually think a team especially a cup contenders wants a guy that gets destroyed because all he cares about points. I know it’s a different sport but dude has Corey Alexander Orlando Woolridge written all over him, guys that produced numbers on a horrible team that never did a thing afterward, there is a reason he looked beyond cooked with the Pens last year, playing 30 odd games producing some points on a god awful team hasn’t changed that like his underlying metrics.

Some guys don't fit a certain playstyle. David Perron didn't fit PIT, and then goes to STL and absolutely killed it. Also, Jack Johnson was litetally the worst Dman in CHI, then comes back to COL & is playing just fine.

I would like to know if Granlund had injuries in PIT?

This trade came from watching him yesterday, seeing some good things, seeing his 24pts so far, & wanting to swap out Joey bc he's literally a sloth, lol.

Dude he got caved in yesterday playing nearly 21 minutes with one shot 4 scoring chances for 12 against. Conversely in 14 minutes RyJo had 9 scoring chances for 3 against. I mean if you liked watching him chase Avs around in the defensive zone great but the guy didn’t do anything special at all and the only reason SJS didn’t get run completely out off the ice was the Avs hitting posts and the goalie playing great.
