Stamkos doens't have a contract extension. Tampa didn't offer him a contract to start the year. If Tampa continues to be out of it by the deadline, I can absolutely see him being traded.

Colorado would be a very good home for Stamkos in the short and long term.

He could very well stay in Tampa though.

In my opinion, I can see Tampa giving a contract extension to Stamkos on July 1.

That was a random guess. Make it a guy with a ton of potential who gets signed to a 1 year, show me type of contract.

Mantha was just a guy I thought possible.

Tampa is in an extremely tough position. Sold the future for the two cup wins. And some weird trades like Hagel and Jeannot. Not sure if they can afford to take on big contracts. Fill out the team like the Canucks did. Guys like Cole, Soucy, Lafferty etc is the recipe to keep them competitive.

I think their only chance is trading away heddy and stammer for high end prospects on ELCs and using the cap they save to sign FA's
