Lots of pieces

Description
I guess it depends on what Joseph is worth in the open market, but the Sens likely decline this imo. However, I wanted to post this and see if there are any thoughts and/or counters that might work better.

Only added Kubalik for cap purposes. Seems necessary if Ottawa were taking on Johansen (which is necessary for Colorado).

In my eyes, it's basically Behrens, Meyers, and a 1st for Greig and Joseph. Not sure if that gets there, and more so not sure if Behrens is the right piece for the Sens. I'm not willing to go Ritchie instead of Behrens, so do with that what you will.

I don’t think Greig is untouchable but he has cost control and plays the game the right way. He’s likely one of the last pieces the Sens would think of moving

Hence my interest, lol. Have liked him for a long time.

It'll take more for Ottawa to trade Greig in my opinion.

I get Greig, but Kubalik and Joseph are passes imo and FO’s become a potential issue.

Joseph is an excellent 3rd liner tbh. Both defensively and speed and can contribute offensively . Personally I’d rather keep him also because the Sens could use more of those players not less

Agree with @csick on Joseph. I think he'd fit really well in the Avs middle six (ideally on the third line). And his contract isn't cost prohibitive.

Kubalik is strictly for cap. I'd leave him out, but then the Sens couldn't fit RyJo.

You wouldn’t like his contract after this season because outside of Colton and Wood maybe LOC on an extension guys need to be making $1m or less if they are playing in the bottom 6, Rantanen extension and some semblance of a 2C (maybe that’s Colton) make trading for a guy like Joseph not real practical imo. I’m not knocking the player or trade I just don’t think it makes sense financially.

I tested it for next year and think it works. After that it might not, but I feel like the contracts will be movable and was ok based on that. I hear you though.

Is that with Colton at 2c, if so who do you like at 3C?

Yeah still Colton at 2C but between two strong wingers in Landy and Nuke. Not ideal to have him in that role, but I'm not sure ideal exists in the next year. I hope it does, but I'm playing with the possibility that Mr right isn't coming through the door anytime soon.

I still had Grieg at 3C for next season but am also hoping Ritchie continues his current trajectory and can step into a top 9 role sooner than later. Hope springs eternal.

It's tight, but as long as Joseph and Manson don't end up being untradeable, there are levers to pull if needed.
