CJ says Nylander is going to get north of 11M

Created by: Brad_Treliving

Initial Creation Date: Jan. 4, 2024
Published: Jan. 4, 2024

Description
Absolute embarrassing culture Kyle Dubas has left behind in Toronto. My criticism of Nylander is higher now if he signs that contract

CJ confirms what Kypreos is saying and has Nylander north of $11M. Dreger has said the same thing

Also marner went from a 60 point guy to a 90 point guy overnight

Not really overnight. His second season he was on a 90 point pace for the 2nd half and has never slowed down. The only reason his point total was reduced in year two was because Babcock put him on the 4th and 3rd lines for long stretches. Once he was out with Kadri and Marleau, he was close to the highest scoring played league wide for the remainder of the season. Despite what the goofs on this site like to say. Marner has been an elite talent from the get to.

dude, you spent like 4 months telling everyone that he was a good top 4 defender and now he's barely a ok 6th defender.

If I had the choice, I would play Benoit top 4 minutes and he deserves to. Knowing Keefe, he’s getting dropped to the third pairing IF we add a defensemen

of course you would, he's a 6th defender on a bottom feeder and you think guys like ryan reaves are valuable.

the leafs are a significantly worse defensive team for many reasons, and most of them have to do with treliving not bringing any actually good defensive players and a bunch of one way offensive guys that he paid way too much for. the bottom 6 is a nightmare defensivly and he never even replaced Holl who was nothing special, but at least was a decent number 4. He brought in Domi and Reaves who are utter black holes and huge negatives and blew a massive chunk of cash on a defender who hasnt been good in years.
When you have a team that is top 10 by every defensive metric you can name and suddenly they are closer to 30, and you havent made 'significant changes' well guess what, you made some significant changes somewhere, because that just doesnt happen otherwise without significant injuries to guys who were good defensivly, and Brodie getting older doesnt explain away 1/10th of the fall.

Top 10 in every defensive metric and still got manhandled and punked around by a team filled with heart and grit in Florida 😂😂😂

If you hate Tre so much just go watch the Penguins play while I watch Tre rebuild the flawed and soft culture Dubas has implemented here in Toronto

such a weak gm, cant even over rule the calculator boys despite being given more autonomy than dubas ever got. Makes the team so worse and cant even turn the culture around, Such a weak and soft hearted guy. Just embarassing. It's sad how he cant even get his coach to listen to him

Too bad treliving is too soft to actually make the team better. A real mans gm would have them at the top of the league and would have nylander signed to a steal of a deal already. Just embarrassing

I think they did but it was fine because the cap was supposed to go up big time. They didn't plan for the global pandemic and the flat cap affected them more than anyone else, simply due to timing.
