The Jets have no need for yet another LHD, so they should save their assets in case they have a chance of acquiring a piece they do need like a top 4 RHD.

For what it's worth, Chychrun can play the right side too, and actually has a pretty sweet snipe from the right side .... *C3PO voice now* ... "from time to time" ...

Also, their top six D, to me anyway, would be Morrissey, Dillon, Pionk, Samberg, DeMelo, Schmidt ... Chychrun could be a very nice upgrade over a few of those guys, but those other guys are kinda not doing so bad, right? But perhaps DeMelo or Schmidt could become a 7th of sorts, battle with Samberg for ice time?

Yeah, almost every defenseman can play their offside. The Jets need another right hand shot.

With Morrissey on the left side and Samberg behind him to replace Dillon if he isn't resigned, there's no place for him and he's just too expensive, once he's extended. You can't have that much money tied up on the left side for a 2nd pair guy.

A year and a half of him just isn't worth the cost. If he filled a direct need, I could see it, but to spend assets to overfill and already full position just isn't good asset management.

If you take Appleton instead of Kupari id do it, not interested in giving Kupari away so quickly

Chalk it up to me wanting to see some deals. I like to book trade deadline off work, and, well, sometimes I've been disappointed lol. But, I mean...

Morrissey - Chychrun
Dillon - Pionk
Samberg - DeMelo/Schmidt
Schmidt/DeMelo/Stanley

That looks *Larry David style* "prettyyyyy, prettyyyy, prettyyy, pretty good!"

Forgive my ignorance as an outsider to the Jets, but would not Chychrun be a "ready now" version of what Chisholm MIGHT become?

Yeah, Chychrun is a good defenseman, a bit overrated, but still good. I wouldn't play him top pair on his off side. Morrissey needs a good defensive RH shot with him.

As I've said, I have nothing against him other than acquisition cost and future contracts, but he's a good player.
