Leafs already have very good depth D men. They need a top 4 dman upgrade. Value seems way too reasonable for Miller, so I am sure someone will make that trade. But it isn't the right move for the Leafs.

I dont understand the Sharangovich trade for New Jersey... they had him scratched last year during playoffs didnt they? Plus Calgary loves this guy.
Tanev value is right where I would think. I had thought that perhaps they could land a late round 1st, but I dont think its likely. But a couple picks in the second/third round could be doable. Thanks for the post - some cool ideas! smile

I never liked that trade either.
Yegor is a young two way forward with good speed, great shot and he was also good on the PK; sure he had regressed that one year but he wasnt bad by any means..
He played some games in the first round against the rangers but I dont think he played in the second round at all.

Tyler Toffoli is really as good as advertised when he is in the offensive zone but he doesnt do much of anything in the other two zones, same goes for Meier.
The Devils added more offense all though they didnt have much trouble scoring before those transactions, and they're now playing two rookie defenders and have a huge questionmark in net.
So looking back this trade that was regarded lopsided for the Devils bye most people looks to be way more even, maybe even slighlty favouring the Flames.

Great insight, cheers!
I agree, when Toff was in Calgary he was mostly offence ... plus his speed is an issue imo, and probably will only get worse with age 😬 Dude has an awesome shot though
