I understand he premise. The defense is weaker though and for this premise, I may sacrifice McDavid for Makar. Makar significantly improves the defence. And McDavid offense can be replaced by many others on he roster if you don't want to replace McDavid, then you look at Matthews for Hughes. And so on. I would want a better defense.

I understand the reason for McDavid and agree with him on roster, just for a better overall team. The defense needs upgraded.

The defense is way better than the offense

I would take Hedmen over Karlson if you are looking for better defense. I don't have a replacement goalie for Grubi, but how can you leave off Draisaittl?

I had a tough time finding NHL goalies from the lesser known countries, I initially had him but changed it. Could maybe bring in Cristobal Huet or something haha
