If were going to gut our futures lets do it right

Description
Just to be clear, I am NOT in favour of trading significant futures as I don't think Vancouver is a legitimate contender. That said, if we are going open to gutting the prospect pool lets at least get someone that is going to be able to contribute for 3+ years and that we have the potential to resign.

Also, would not be surprised at all if Buffalo doesn't want to to move the player.

Tuch is on pace for like 25 you dingus. Its objectively way more value than Tuch is worth. Basically it's 2 1st and 2 2nds maybe more.

Tuch is basically the captain, and 25 is still more than 19

Well the main thing was I wasn’t commenting on value. Value alone is subjective. Why are they trading him? Do they need to? I was simply putting that Buffalo probably shouldn’t be shelling out guys who are productive for futures with where they’re at. And they probably shouldn’t do so while getting softer.

I don’t follow Buffalo enough to know what their issue is. But I’d imagine it stems from the backend or goaltending. None of that addresses the issues at hand.

Obviously none of these proposals are likely. They're made to feel out value and possibility. My point was that that haul is a fairly steep overpay for Tuch. If it were offered theyd have to take it. It never would be though. You're comment is worried about toughness when they're winning a trade by a mile. As for it not being exactly what they need you can move top prospects and 1st round picks for goalies and dmen every offseason and often even in season.

The difference isn't anywhere close to a top prospect, a good young roster player and a 1st. That is all.

They could do that without taking from their current roster. They’re probably the most stacked pool in regards to forwards currently.

Buffalo couldn't have any less interest. That trade is putrid.

I mean that's just an insane

I hope by insane you mean insanely bad. A bust, spare parts, a prospect Buffalo doesn't need and a pick Buffalo doesn't need

You're kidding right? This is the Canucks best young roster player, a guy who is maligned but had 39 last year (only two less than Tuch this year), far and away the Canucks best prospect and a first.

If you want to hang on to your future captain, fine, but this is a huge overpay for a pretty good winger.

39 goal scorer that's on pace for 19 this year, prospect they still don't need, they don't have room for the forward prospects they have now, which is also why they don't need the pick, as well as a bust that you call a nice roster player, who would be on Buffalos 4th line

'Bust' like Hoglander (who plays 10 min a game and has as many goals as Tuch).

Fair enough though, the Sabres are obviously a set team and shouldn't go making trades that could potentially muddle that up.

Go make an ACGM trading Savoie and a first for an established roster player and watch how Sabres fans react...

Tuch, who played hurt, with Thompson who played with a cast on his wrist throughout December, not to mention nearly a point per game where Hoglander is more close to .33 points per game. On top of being 5'9

Hoglander and Kuzmenko are so good, Canucks fans are throwing them away in nearly every ACGM they make. The Canucks best prospect doesn't make him the Sabres best prospect. The Sabres aren't rebuilding

I'm sure, again wasn't trying to comment on value. Everyone on here has an affinity for their teams prospects because nobody busts on paper. And everyone somehow lives up to their potential. That being said, in general teams don't trade their higher end prospects until they fully understand what they are or that they don't work.
