After last night, the Flyers *really* cannot justify being buyers at the TDL

Flames will get a more appealing package elsewhere, probably selling them separately. Very little interest in Cates or Frost.

Flyers also should not be buyers as they aren't anywhere near contending

Who's in a playoff spot right now?? If Philly makes playoffs, I would be more scared to play them then Toronto, as Torts has them playing playoff hockey, unlike the Maple leafs

I don’t know anything about McLaughlin but if he is a decent prospect than sure the value seems fair…just don’t see why Philly would be in the market for a rental.

Chances are the Flyers aren't going to the playoffs. They look tired and are getting run down. With the teams right behind them playing well it looks increasingly likely that they miss out. Plus Briere has said they aren't looking to buy. With the Gauthier trade they need to add picks not trade them.

They are a team with depth and zero stars. Even if they make the playoffs they have next to no chance of winning the cup. Torts has done a good job there but they are still far from actually contending.

Im not saying Toronto is there either as they have their own issues but at least in Toronto's case they have the stars already. It's always easier to add depth players than it is to add a superstar or 2.

Also you are burying Risto who has played quite well under Torts. I don't get that motive at all

If Habs can't get a 1st rounder for Monahan they'll just resign him. A 2nd has no value to Montreal. Chances are Monahan is better than whomever they draft with the 2nd rounder
