It all depends on when he signs his deals. Bedard has 2 huge seasons next year and the year after and he'll get major money. But more than McDavid? Not likely. Bedard has been good no question and is going to be a star but no one is mCDavid.

They re-sign in the same exact year. So if they both get 8 years. Bedard at lets say 14, and McDavid at 14.5 then their next contract Bedard will be 28 and McDavid 37? Bedard will get more and the highest paid at that point. OR Chicago just breaks the bank like Edmonton did for McDavids first extension.

Mcdavid had significantly better players around him in his rookie season, though, and their rookie year offensive production is fairly similar. Also, if McDavid's next contract is 8 years, Bedsy could very likely get more than him in his second or third contract, given cap increases and the likely rise in market values and cap percentages. But, I'm kinda wondering, since Crosby was his idol, if he will go a similar route taking a discount to help the teams cap situation. Which, it'd be nice if he did, but I don't expect him to.
