Awful overpay for Winnipeg. They need a 2C, not a marginal 4C. Monahan is worse than Namesnikov in every way imaginable except for face offs.

The the Jets shouldn't be throwing away assets for a player that doesn't improve the team even slightly.

No thank you to the first trade…Monahan does nothing for WPG, and that’s to much for him anyway
The second trade is meh… Bogosian is RHD over Stanley’s LHD and it saves WPG 150K, so sure, I guess

Bogo is a cup winner ..great spare/leader to have. Monny is a bigger version of Vladdy who can actually win faceoffs...this will help all three facets of the game for the Jets

Monahan isnt a 2C, and nothing will change that. He is of zero use to WPG and definitely not worth what you are giving up for him here

He’s not good enough to be a 3C in WPG
All he is is a face off guy…that’s it. Once the face off is over he’s useless

Have you followed him this year? 14 goals, 23 points....Better than all C's we have other than Scheifele....and he gets 56% of FO

Have you followed Vlad… almost same number of points in less games
Lindholm has more points in close to the the same number of games
Monahan is not a 2C and would be a waste of assets to acquire….especially for what you’re offering for him…. At best he gets a B-prospect OR a 2nd… not the MTL 2nd, either… and neither should be coming from WPG

I want Lindholm…but, I’d be happier with Vlad then I would be with Monahan
In my opinion, acquiring Monahan is a fail, and it shows just how laxy and useless Chevy is and he should be fired.

8 even strength points, awful defensively, bad at even strength, poor skater, it kind of says it all. He won't be getting prime PP1 time in Winnipeg, so there goes all his production. Monahan is between a 10-14 forward on a playoff team. As you said Namestnikov does everything that Monahan does, other than face offs, except he does it at even strength in less games with less minutes of ice time per game.

I don't understand some fans obsession with adding deadweight to the Jets when they are playing well.

I would love Lindholm but I dont want to get into a race with other teams and losing picks/prospects. If we can do a Lucius, Stan and a 2nd(turns into a first depending playoff results) then im pumped for that

If all we do is horde our top picks and prospects, all we will ever be is a playoff team… not a Cup winning team.
The difference between our 1st and MtL 2nd is marginal so I’d happily pay the 1st. Lindholm elevates us to Cup contender status… and that’s what we should be striving to be
