Avs decline, Byram > lindholm.

Depends on how desperate Avs are. Both Byram and Girard have struggles more this year. Such a trade solidifies this 2 nd line for year as it did say an extension. At the same time, Colorado only entertains such a trade if they felt they had a replacement for Byram for now and future potential.
I don't know much about Colorado's farm system and as much as Byram has shown his potential this year, he is a young D with high upside. Making him a big no for this trade.

The big question in all of it is Landeskog. If COL think he has a chance to return, then I think they're more interested in Lindholm as a rental. If Landeskog seems doubtful to really play again, then Lindholm longer-term becomes more appealing, but even then I don't think they'll be eager to pay his likely price and term given other deals they need to get done in the near future.

Nobody should give up on a young talent like Byram for a rental even if he's had some struggles and growing pains.

Easy no for the Avs. They shouldn't be trading Byram for a rental.
