Pinto is a much safer bet to be a productive top nine player for the next decade.

Podkolzin *might* be a star but he also could very well be in the KHL in 18 months.

He’s 22 and in the AHL.

Theres a chance that he pulls a Vilardi and makes the nhl at 23 and becomes good.

There’s also a chance he never makes it

Pods is very up in the air right now - He was brought back down to abbotsford, just like Hoglander was last year and now Hogs has been pretty good. We'll see if he follows a similar path because they are similar players who were both brought up to the show way too early under the benning regime

What does Pod do that’s high end? Does he have a defining skill?

IMO, he's impressive physically. He has had flashes where he drops a shoulder and drives to the net and looks like a legitimate power forward. He's a very hardworking player and has good playmaking ability - although his hands can look awkward at times, like he has the skill to pull of a move but doesn't know when to do it. He's supposedly good defensively, although my untrained eye has a pretty hard time following what he does defensively so well.

I think a comparable (and probably his absolute ceiling) would be a Dustin Brown, Zach Hyman or Brayden Schenn type player.

His shot is also pretty impressive, especially that one timer from the circle on the PP
