Tanev not needed especially how the d is playing right now. Lindholm would be an upgrade at 2C. Way better option than Monahan who is really not an upgrade.

i would be ok with offering barlow for lindholm even, especially with an extension in place.

And I disagree I think we need a big playoff style defender like tanev in the top 4, id be quite concerned about a top d pairing of Jmo and Demelo getting bullied in the corners and front of the net come playoffs. Our defensive play has been by commission of all 6 players in the ice not necessarily defense specifically, this is our year before cap is going to force some decisions. Go all in!

If it's an extension yeah id consider Lambo/Barlow but with demelo, Dillon perfetti needing deals next summer, as well as Lindholm being a ufa I don't see an extension as very likely

Yeah i agree, i edited my response probably before you replied. Money is gonna be thigh next year, lots of ufa, schmidt will have to be moved too probably.

Yeah Schmidt likely gone at the draft or summer, id move him for cap space this year but he's potentially really important for the locker room so keep him around for this run I think

Schmidt besides his cap is playing solid enough for this year. Unless an offer comes in before TDL that involves him(highly unlikely), he will be bought out in the offseason- business decision just like Wheeler.

Only way I offer Barlow is if there’s an extension in place…Lambert is untouchable for me… I wouldn’t trade him at all.
Dillon can walk, we have Chisholm to fill the bottom pairing LD. Schmidt needs to go in the offseason for cap space as well as Iafello…and for me either Namestnikov or Appleton can be moved too.
Add all that to the Cap increase next year and the Jets can absolutely afford Lindholm with an extension.

Lindholm is the bigger need and where we should be putting money first… after that, then we need to address the RD, but Tanev is going to want to get payed on his next contract and he’s not what we need, to be paying what he’ll want.
If we were moving on from Pionk, then yes, I’d agree with you, but not if Pionk is staying.
For me, we need a Pulock

Pulock will cost a ton having just extended and having a bit of a down year, and if we can get Tanev as a rental in the Lindholm deal for not a crazy amount more it's a no brainer he's really a perfect playoff defender in my opinion
