Klef being injured will forever haunt me and is the biggest "what if's" for the Oilers. What if Klefbom could of had a healthy career. He was doing so good in a first pairing role. Nurse would of been our 2nd dman, and would of never been paid his current contract.

Nurse is getting paid 1.5 mill max more than he should. Let's be real, his contract isn't that bad and good on him for getting paid. Nurse is a 40+ point Dman that plays against the oppositions best players, at 7.5 that would be considered a great contract.

You're missing my point. If Klef was healthy, Nurse would never of played as much as he had to, and would be our 2nd pair LH D, and would of been paid as such. We could of easily signed him to a long term, $6mill deal instead of constantly bridging him. Klef performed much better in the #1, LH D role too.

Cruel? He played 2 or 3 more seasons after it happened and in his last year he was quite good. Also he was considering extension right up to the final hour.

I understand the point and agree he probably would have got 6 x 8 and been a steal at that contract.

I am just stating that right now for all the Nurse haters, he's still a top pairing defenseman logging some tough minutes with a really good 3rd pairing partner.

I like Nurse too, don't get me wrong. I also like Ceci, but he's much better suited as a 2nd pair dman. Hopefully we get another RH dman to play with Nurse.
