The value is alright on the Oilers trade but when was the last time a team gave up 3 firsts in a trade?

Leafs won't be trading Gio. So that trade gets stopped right there.

The Tampa Bay Lightning changed all of that, sending three first-round picks away in the last two trade deadlines which has resulted in two Stanley Cups.

Nucks have no reason of this, it actually hurts us, Myers is more expensive, but he plays a role and does it really well. Reeves is a pine rider, he cant play in todays game, I think he is going to be on waivers by the end of the calendar year

Canucks have no interest in Ryan Reaves.
Sam Lafferty is a better 4th line player than Ryan Reaves.

Why does everyone pick on Tyler Meyers? He's a rock solid 3rd pairing d-man, he's just overpaid.

Calgary would accept the Tanev + Vladar trade but the oilers aren't likely to give up 3 1sts like that.

The other trades are all bad for Calgary.

1997: Mikael Renberg
1994: Glen Wesley
1988: Wayne Gretzky

(1990: Scott Stevens...which was an off-sheet comp of two 1sts, but turned out to be FIVE 1sts since Blues did have the picks at the time)

Ha. Are you delusional? You would have to add a 1st to Pissick and Reaves, for the Canucks to take that deal.

Interesting.

It would be a lot to dump a contract. Guys have required a single 1st to move (Marleau, Monahan, Malakhov, etc) and Andrew Ladd require three picks (2nd, 2nd, 3rd). Three 1sts is a lot.

Even the list of guys who have gotten two 1sts in last 30 years is rather small.

Brandon Hagel (2022)
Brayden Schenn (2017)
Martin St. Louis (2014)
Phil Kessel (2009)
Chris Pronger (2009)
Chris Pronger (2006)
Rob Blake (2001)
Chris Chelios (1999)
Curtis Joseph (1995)

(Renberg 1997 too but already listed that one)

Maybe best to do a swap like VAN/ARI Ekman-Larsson deal
