Ottawa doesn’t need more LDs , we already have a logjam even if we move Chychrun

There’s 0 chance ottawa trades anything for a LD . 0. They already have a LD imbalance

Kleven is coming in on pair 3.

Also Miller is a top 4 LD and he’s not replacing Sanderson or Chabot

If Sens have no faith in their many LD prospects, why trade Chychrun then?

Miller and Chychrun have same term, so rather just keep Chych in that case

Kaliyev for pinto?

Change if scenery scenarios.

TMac just isn’t giving Kaliyev the minutes.

Pinto is big right hand guy that could mesh well in top 9 roll. Switch him in and out of top 6 if needed.

Idk. My team is complete dog **** right now.

Miller is more proven since Pinto missed 1 year due to injury and half a season due to suspension but if not, I think it'd be seen as somewhat fair. As of now, add Boston's 1st at least

Brannstrom is pretty good for a 3rd pairing, good 2-way metrics considering the terrible common linemates he has had (Josh Brown, then decline Nick Holden, and now Hamonic)

This season, 62.7 xGF% when paired with Zub, 60% when paired with Chychrun, 51.3% when paired with JBD. (43% with Hamonic). Brannstrom is good when you give him a better partner than barely NHL players.

Last season? 90.9% with Chychrun (only 18 5on5 mins though), 70.8% with Sanderson, 67.6% with Hamonic (who was better last season), 58.6% with Zub, etc. Actually, the only pairing that was below 50% was with Zaitsev (47.7%)

Agree with all of your points here. We have no interest in K'Andre Miller. Braden Schneider on the other hand...

they probably don't as you don't have any great ones, and they are trading Chychrun cuz he doesn't want to resign, and that makes him also lose a bit of value as it did with Arizona

yes but he is a third pair guy making 2mil as an RFA looking to get paid more... now would you want Brannstrom as a third pairing guy at 3m per season with how much cap space is important?
I certainly wouldn't.

Who told you he's looking to get paid more? He doesn't have the leverage to ask for more yet

Brannstrom will continue to grow and will eventually get a bigger role on another team, making a bit more money. Sens might or might need him next season, I think he'll get traded next summer. Sens already have Sanderson, Chabot, Chychrun and Kleven as LHDs.

Chychrun wants to be traded, or at least made it clear he isn't willing to resign... that is the point.

Brannstrom will probably get a 3 mil offer from teams like Arizona that have cap space and need to give a chance at a top4 job at guys like him, and sens should not play a 3rd D pair 3mil.

It looks like your opinions are mostly/entirely based on what you hear on the streets, which is not really the most "realistic" way most of the time. This is a speculative rumor based on the fact that the Sens have 3 Top LHDs.

Both Staios and Chychrun have DENIED the rumors, which doesn't guarantee he will not be traded in the end. New management just arrived on the job, they are on team evaluation mode.

You're right, they won't. Brannstrom will be the odd-man out when Tyler Kleven is NHL ready (which is becoming very close)
