Description

I know the rumors are the Hanifin is re-signing. But this is a make believe site so I'm choosing to ignore those for the old rumors of him being on the trade block, which I like better.

Most of Caps fandom loves Marty. I, personally, do not. But I think this upgrades the Caps without necessarily a major downgrade for Calgary.

Monahan is a year removed from being a cap dump that resulted in a ransom for the Canadiens and is a rental with a wobbly ceiling. Canadiens get a veteran defenseman with some term and high-ish picks. Seems fair.

Jensen used to be pretty good. BUT. His term is scary when they had to pay to dump a similar age player in Petry whom was on the same path.

Pass.

Monahan being a cap dump 1.5 years ago is meaningless. This isnt the past. Same goes for the Jensen value then to now.

They'll easily get this sort of return without the Jensen money on the books.
