Description

Do I think Seattle or any team would take on Graves realistically? No.

Do I think Reilly Smith would waive for Ottawa? No.

Do I think Ottawa would take back another LD which they don’t need? No.

I just wanted to see the cap situation with these moves and explore a different route of upgrading the team by trading F for D and going cheaper on F and more expensive on the back end. Promoting Ty Smith is based on his play at WBS which has been improved and deserving of a look, imo.

Trade values will be off but is about the players involved being targets. I don’t care about picks and this is an exercise in what players should come in and out. Values are so far from what I care about so don’t get upset about it.

Taxi squad is just showing players who I’d consider for callups worst case scenario or if more cap was accrued.

I do think you could find someone to take Graves, but you'd have to pay and may not get much back in return. Imagine it'd have to be a team some what in the early years of a rebuild that would take someone his age to help the defense or someone that has some successful younger pieces and looking to add to defense. Again, don't think it'd be easy and then you have to find someone to replace him b/c that player doesn't exist on the team.

I do think that you could find a "Hockey Trade" with smith. Player for Player.

I like the way the team looks, like you said in desc comp would need to be adjusted. I think there is a deal for graves, I do not think he is neg value.
