Pretty solid effort from a non- Hawks fan! Love the Tarasenko signing for the Hawks. And Sundqvist and Walker both target positions Hawks will have to address in free agency. Doubt Hawks sign 2 UFA goalies. They seem pretty committed to the Soderblom experiment still. And no chance they target Ghost or another LD. Vlasic and Korchinski will be top 4 LD again next season. 3 LD will be one of Phillips, Kaiser, DelMastro or Allen. Maybe a vet LD who can play both sides as the 7th D man. Like Megna, who's been surprisingly solid since joining the Hawks.

I could maybe see them bringing in a vet for the top pairing if someone is available that they think would be a bigger benefit to Jones than Vlasic, to get him going, hoping for some trade interest. But, I doubt they do that. I think the resolve around him is "if it happens, it happens. If it doesnt', we are happy to keep him." Meaning if he asks for a trade and there is interest, great, but if not, no big deal. Plan as if he is part of the picture and re-address the situation if something changes. And that is the only way I could see them bringing another LHD into the top 4. But anyone they would bring in that might actually be beneficial will want term, anyway, and that isn't going to happen. Plus, even if Vlasic is still developing, they have been playing very well together. So, there is almost no point in doing that, and this entire hypothetical situation is a moot point.

So, yeah, not gonna happen, and if it did, it definitely wouldn't be Gostisbehere.

Also, I have gone from liking Eiserman, to being ok with Eiserman, to now not wanting anything to do with him in the draft. I hope KD isn't considering him with CHI's first pick, and I honestly wouldn't even want him with the TBL pick. I went through and watched a bunch of his games on demand and, outside of his shot and ability to find space, I don't like him at all. He more than likely won't get away with that at the pro level and his shot would be nullified. There are much more exciting, dynamic, and translatable players available in the upcoming draft. Which is why he is falling down so many rankings so rapidly. If we get another 1st late in the round and he is available, or he falls to the 2nd round, that is where I might consider taking a shot on a high upside "boom or bust" player like him.

Thanks, I tried to make this as realistic as possible. They're loaded with LD prospects but it wouldn't be the worst idea to bring in one veteran.

Only moves I'm not sold they will make is 2 goalies, they'll give Soderblum at least 1 more year. And Gostisbehere, I think they'll let the kids play. Especially after how Vlasic and Korchinski have looked so far this year. I could see them bringing in a veteran 6/7th Dman that can play both sides. Someone stable. But good work, I think this is pretty close to what the Hawks will look like next year.

If Eiserman is available with the second pick, absolutely! Take him and hope he develops into a more well rounded player. But he seems like way to much of a gamble to waste at top 5 pick on. Give me someone with a higher floor.

Yeah. I don't even believe he has the highest ceiling after Celebrini, honestly. I think Demidov and Lindstrom will be more effective and well rounded players than him. You can score all the goals you want, but if you can't do anything else, it won't matter much. We already have a top heavy team that can't play defense in the league, and they are called the Maple Leafs. Further proof that you can have all the talent in the world, but that isn't gonna get you Stanley cups.

I'd rather have a team with more evenly distributed scoring, where everyone is responsible off the puck, and draft players whose play styles match and compliment each other, than a bunch of flash and dash super expensive contracts with no playoff results. This increase in league-wide offense won't last. Teams are going to compensate for it, find ways to defend against it, and neutralize scoring threats. Defensemen will get better, goalies will get better, and things will ebb and flow.
