WSH pass.
Caps are not interested in Tyler Bertuzzi.

Bertuzzi sucks. Mantha has his issues but he’s way better than Bert.

Earlier in their careers, Mantha was way better, but since the 2020-21 season, Bertuzzi has been much better. This season they are more or less the same with Mantha having the slight edge, in terms of production at least.

Bert won't waive, and the Caps won't do that.

I'd say they're playing at around the same level this year but it just doesn't make sense for WSH. If they move on from Mantha, it will be because they decide to sell and get some futures back. If they are still in the hunt, I think they'd rather stick with the guy that has finally found his game in DC and is playing with a ton of confidence.

TOR can have him 50% retained for a 2nd though if they decide to sell.
