Luke Schenn, and Nick Jenson are two guys i would add to the list too. Especially that Schenn's contract is relatively cheap at only 2.75M!

Not that you say that I really like the idea of Schenn, he was fantastic for the Leafs last year and I think he would fit really good on the Oilers blueline and honestly Jensen wouldn't he bad either

The main issue I have with Nurse/Ceci is they get hemmed in a lot because neither make great zone exit passes, it's essentially always a chip or they pin it if theyre under pressure (or Nurse is forced to skate to neutral where he does better in puck movement).
So guys like Chych/Carrier/Faulk who are good in that regard plus are a lil above average defensively (maybe beside Chych) are the value adds to me. A 100% defensive dman that isn't a puck mover isn't going to help that situation besides in cutting cycles which to me isnt enough.

Exactly that was my original thought on Ceci for Savard and when you put it like that Carrier or Chychrun wouldn't be the worst

Fair fair, although i feel like Nurse can work on that part of his game to solidify himself as a better 2-way defence man. The main issue i have with the Nurse/Ceci pairing, is that it is not good enough in its down end. They will get beat wide by the wingers, or not get back in time with the back check. With Nurse not having to try and perfect his defensive game more, i believe with a defenisve guy, he can learn to work on his offensive game as well. Imo, getting an offensive guy like the ones you listed, will create a lot of problems defensively where Nurse isn't at his strongest.

Yah i agree. Too bad the leafs couldn't keep him. Could have been a good partner for Reilly. I think he could do the same with Nurse.

Yeah he was perfect with Rielly and yeah I think he'd would be the same for Nurse. Nurse isn't perfect all the time and he makes mistakes and I think Schenn would really help them out

Savard isn't an upgrade at all. He's worse, older and cost more. This is a troll ACGM made by a Toronto fan

Settle down. Even if you thought Ceci was a tad better (he aint) Saying Savard is better than Ceci aint a troll. Posters that misuse words and their definitions could be actually the worst, like someone that uses reticent instead of reluctant, read a little more.

Yes, and like i said in my other comment, i believe with a guy like Schenn, that can allow Nurse to be able to work on his offensive game to make a very good pairing. Also, just like the oilers, i too would like to get a big defender who can block shots, and throw the body when necessary.

I guess I should clarify that the guys I would look for are more 2-way defenders like Ekholm, maybe putting Chych as the first name I mentioned wasn't good as he is more offensive but Faulk and Carrier are both very good defenders, Carrier I would even go as far to say is a pretty elite defender (though I dont have a huge sample size of watching him).

I believe you mentioned Jensen who also fits this 2-way category but more so is defensive and I 100% would love him on EDM, my main objection is to purely defensive dmen (ex. Tanev or TJ).

Troll whether intentional or not is still a troll. Savard is in no way better than Ceci. There's a 1st round prospect and a 2nd included in that trade too eh
