So that's a LOT to give up for a backup goalie when Rodrigue is likely in the NHL next year.

have u done any research on these players at all? theres a reason every contending team is lining up to try and get dowd. theres a reason why nobody wanted broberg. theres a reason why holloway is 22 and can barely crack an NHL roster that lacks depth. theres a reason teams want edmundson. and the reason the caps are anywhere close to the playoffs IS lindgren.

I have. But it seems you have not.

Dowd and Lindgren are not going anywhere. Both have very team friendly deals through next year, both well liked in DC, and both doing way more than asked of them (dowd as usual is keeping that 4th line glued together amid lots of turnover).

Edmundson is sell-off bait for picks only. Caps will not be taking on middling prospects or other contracts.

I disagree they are two of the only caps that have any trade value. The caps will be sellers by the TDL. That would be a great haul even if I hate the Campbell dump

I would do this in a heartbeat. I'm all for encouraging a youth movement, but I don't know how realistic it is for the Caps to actually do it. Unfortunately the organization still wants to try and compete with Ovi instead of resetting the roster

As much as I love Dowd and Lindgren and as much of an anchor that Campbell contract is, I feel like you have to take this.
