This team should not be paying big prices for pure rentals.

Guentzel to Boston? Interesting 🤔
Why would Guentzel be a good fit in Boston?

The cost of Jake Guentzel is a Roster player+Blue chip prospect+2024 1st round pick. Which none of it is provided. That deal isn't happening as it would easily be squashed by other teams.

Add Gryz for Cap reasons and a 3rd (or two).

A price Boston would not pay.

Kunitz best year, he had 26 xgoals and 35 goals. His career average (playing with Crosby) is 17 xgoals and 21 goals.

Guentzel's last three years average is 43 xgoals and 39 goals.

Kunitz best year (in his 4 year run) was worse than Guentzel's worst year.

Yours is a bad take.

nobody can argue jake is better than kunitz , that wasn't the point . his production will still drop if hes not playing with syd , guaranteed . i gave you a fair example you just choose to interpret it wrong

Your example was not fair. Your implication was that Guentzel has been propped up by Crosby just like Kunitz was. That is insanely false and you know it.

If your implication was that Guentzel benefits from playing with Crosby, you could be correct to a degree.

However, when you said Kunitz 2.0, that doesn't mean he is slightly propped up, it means he is ENTIRELY propped up. Which is also shown in your first comment

You meant what you said, Guentzel = Kunitz and that is a very bad take.

You said something stupid. Own it. Learn from it. Move on.

time will tell , it wasn't stupid at all and i stand by it , jakes production next year without syd will be down from his inflated stats playing with crosby if he is not with another star center guaranteed .

Your take wasn't dumb because you said his numbers would be down without a star center. That is obvious. Your take was dumb because you said "drop drastically".

Can you clarify? So if Guentzel is scoring 40 goals and 85 points per season with Crosby, what will his numbers be next season if he has a worse center? Can you also tell me which centers would be better or equal to Crosby so we know which ones are worse.

well off the top of my head if he plays with mcdavid matthews or mackinnon he'll probably produce about the same , i'm going to guess he's around 25 goals and 60 points without a star center
